Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov Defends His Sale of Surface To Air Missiles To Iran As "Legal"

Sergey Ivanov signed an agreement last Monday to sell surface-to-air missiles to Iran. He stated that the agreement "conforms to all international agreements" and is "legally binding on Moscow".

He claims that the systems he is selling to Iran will not disturb the military balance of power in the region as they are allegedly "defense only". They are TOR-MI defense systems with medium range capacities.

Additionally, Ivanov said that the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman announced all military agreements are aimed at preventing the spread of mass nuclear weapons.

This agreement was signed WEEKS AFTER Iran's President made it abundantly clear that Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth. In the past decade close to a million Russians, both Christian and Jewish, have emigrated to Israel (and points beyond from Israel).

Putin Denounces Plans for Radical Islamic worldwide Caliphate

Vladimir Putin declared in Brussels on Monday that radical Islamic groups are planning to systematically annihilate non-Moslems and to create a worldwide Caliphate.

He added that western civilisation was at risk of being attacked by terrorists, these attacks being more than sporadic one-off attacks. Rather, they are, in the opinion of Vladimir Putin a “concerted effort and programme” by an organisation which has a global structure and which has the intention to commit murderous atrocities in the name of Islam.

Vladimir Putin also declared that there was a possibility that this organisation (Al-Qaeda) already has nuclear weapons. He did not hesitate to point out that the terrorists operating in Chechnya are part of this worldwide league of extremists and indeed are in constant contact with Osama Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda. Western sources repeatedly refer to the Chechens as “separatists” who want to fight for their independence, whereas the reality is quite different.

The Chechen terrorists are a small part of the 850,000 Chechen population, most of whom despise the bandits for what they are: common criminals with connections to international crime, posing in the name of Islam and separatism to gain sympathy for their cause from the ignorant or from those who periodically like to attack Russia.

President Putin declared that if the West does not deal effectively with the Chechen question, acts such as those perpetrated in Moscow and Bali will become commonplace all over the world.

Nalchik Attackers Were Mostly Locals

As the investigation continues, more is being revealed.........

The group the militants came from is called Jamaat Yarmuk according to President of Kabardino-Balkaria Arsen Konakov.

Evidently there were 150 members of the group involved in the attacks, most of them were from Nalchik. Others came as far as Chechnya.

Jamaat Yarmuk was set up by a man name Muslim Atayev aka Seyfullah. This is the group responsible for blowing up a Moskow apartment building in 1999.

In January, 2005 Jamaat Yaarmuk called for Jihad in the North Caucasus. Coincidently, "Seyfullah" was killed in Nalchik in January, 2005 and his replacement was killed in the outskirts of Nalchik not long after. Both were killed by Russian Authorities.

Liquor Found With Korans of Nalchik Attackers

President of the Kabardino-Balkaria region Arsen Karokov announced that large quantities of liquor were found right beside the Korans where the militants stayed the night before their attacks.

He also confirmed that those militants who survived the attacks and have been caught are being heavily interrogated by Russian authorities at the present time.

The population was urged to practice vigilance and to cooperate with law enforcement. Karakov told his people that "no one will succeed in rocking the social and political situation here."

Karakov alo offered his condolences to those who lost loved ones in this attack. He also called the attackers blasphemers of the Islamic faith during the holy month of Ramadan

Russian Mufti Calls for Ban on Wahabism After Attacks on Caucaisus Region

Mukhammedgali Khuzin, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Muslim Board of Russian Muftis has urged non-Muslim Russian authorities to ban Wahabism from Russia. He feels strongly that legislation should be drawn up to this effect.

Taking a great risk to his own life, these are the Mufti's own words:

"The interpretations of Wahabism are all the same to us. What is important to us is the fact that Wahabism is causing bloodshed in Russia. Thus, we must work out legislative groundwork to resist it and act the way our law enforcement bodies have been acting in the last few years in regard to the banned Hizb-uh-Tarir party."

He feels that is Wahabism is not dealt with soon, it will spread fast from the Chechen region to Russia and he feels certain Wahabiism is to blame for what happend in Nalchik.

Militant Chechens Attack Russians in the Caucasus Region

Scores of Islamic militants launched simultanteous attacks on Government buildings in Nalchik, Russia on Thursday. This is in the Caucaisus region. It is essential to note that one such building was a police station. Approximately 50 people were killed.
25 were the rebels, a dozen were police officers, and another dozen were civilians.

Chechen rebels are claiming responsibility. Schools were evacuated and corpses were left all over the ground.

Nalchic, a city of 235,000, is the capital of the state called Kabardino-Balkariya.

The Chechen extremist "problems" with Russia have spread far beyond the Chechen borders and often int the Caucaisus region of Kabardino-Balkariya has suffered thi fate before unfortunately.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has immediately ordered a total blockaded of the city of Nalchik in order to prevent anyone from escaping or further extremists from getting in. He has given strict orders for armed resisters to be shot on the spot.
